  • If you like cheesy love stories and inaccurate medical takes, this is for you.

Incredibly lazy storyline. Had the potential to be so good! The focus on the love stories completely ruined it. So cliche, and brought nothing of value. Why do people need to have sex before they even know each other’s middle name? That isn’t love and it makes me sad that you think that’s a nice love story. As a doctor I can’t believe this was approved by any medical professional.

Not my usual genre, but a nice read. Definitely worth the time and wholly satisfying in the end.

What an emotional roller coaster! I became attached to the characters immediately. Laughing, cheering, and crying with them. This brought me out of a book funk I’d been in for a while, and reminded me there are still heartfelt, engaging stories to be read.
  • Mislabeled

If BookBub had labeled this book correctly I would have passed it by because it’s not a genre I would ever choose to read. Can’t even say Chick Lit because it’s not literature, it’s a romance novel and I felt duped. This was my first and last book by this author.

This is such a wonderful book. It has everything.
  • Cute story. Juvenile writing.

The story was nice, albeit a bit cheesy, but the writing was juvenile. It felt like a YA novel meets a Hallmark movie. This is my first read of Kristin Hannah’s, and others have praised The Nightingale, so I still think I’ll give that one a shot. Magic Hour does appear to be one of her earlier works, so hopefully her writing style evolved.
