Good, but not great. Worth buying. Weaker than previous Allon novels. Entertaining novel and objectively worth buying/reading. Qualitatively closer to the Allon equivalent of a potboiler though.
  • Great Allon adventure

Enjoyed this book and then continued relationships between Allon and his collection of friends and colleagues in Britain. Missed his cast of Israeli team but still had suspense and twists and turns.
  • Not as good as other Gabriel Allon books

Was frankly kind of a slow read. I have loved all the Daniel Silva books but this one was a bit of a snooze fest compared to others. Some elements predictable and formulaic. It just wasn’t the page-turner I expected.

Enjoyed this book, seemed a little slow getting started. I’ve read all Daniel Silva’s book. He’s one of my favorite authors!
  • No more politics

I’ve always enjoyed Gabriel Allon’s exploits and this book does not disappoint, however I do not share Daniel Siva’s anti American world view and doubt I can enjoy this his books any longer. It’s a shame he is forced his political views into his writing.

Only fiction writer I read. Just a wonderful series and set of characters. So timely with what is going on in this world.

I read all of the Gabrielle Allon books. This is not a full review because I’m only halfway through. So to keep it simple I would not highly recommend this last book in the series.

Ransom is a very enjoyable, fast paced novel that takes place in the world of today with all of the its current international intrigue. As always, Daniel Silva’s books introduce my wife and I to new places to visit and explore.
